3 Days Ahmedabad - Sasangir - Wildlife - Birding

Ahmedabad – Junagadh – Sasangir – Ahmedabad

Day 1 – Ahmedabad – Junagadh – Sasangir

Arrive at Ahmedabad Airport/Railway Station between 0700-0800 Hrs.

Upon arrival, meet guide & driver and drive to Sasan Gir.

On the way, visit Mohabbat Khan Maqbara & Ashokan Rock Edicts.

Mohabbat Khan Maqbara: The yellow mausoleum, Mohabbat Maqbara, is a masterpiece of its kind with finely designed arches, vertical columns and elaborate stone carvings on the walls and windows. Its silver-decorated portals, the winding staircases encircling its four tall minarets, the old step-well in the grounds, and its onion-shaped dome contribute to its splendor.

Ashokan Rock Edicts: These edicts belong to the period around 250 BC. These rock edicts mention morality codes and royal orders against slaughter, greed and emphasizes the principles of purity of thought, kindness and gratitude.

Continue drive to Sasangir.

Day 2 – Sasangir

Today proceed for Morning and Evening Jeep Safari at Sasangir Lion Sanctuary: Gir is the only place in the world outside Africa, where the lions can be seen in their natural habitat. Sasangir bio-diversity rivals any National Park in India. The forest harbors a variety of smaller animals & birds. The Indian Deer, Sambar, Spotted deer, Blue bull, & the Chowsingha (four horned antelope) are found here, along with the long tailed langur. After Morning safari we can visit the Siddi Community staying near Sasangir.

Day 3 – Sasangir – Ahmedabad

Today morning drive back to Ahmedabad. If time permits en-route visit Sarkhej Roza: Sarkhej comprises one of the most elegant architectural complexes of Ahmedabad. Grouped around a great stepped tank is the tomb to the saint, Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh (1451),Sarkhej Roza is an example of the early Islamic architectural culture of the region, which fused Islamic stylistic influences from Persia with indigenous Hindu and Jain features to form a composite “Indo-Sarcenic” architectural style.

At an appropriate time transfer to Airport/Railway Station to board Flight/Train. Late evening departure from Ahmedabad.
